Marktonderzoek verkent, beschrijft, analyseert, interpreteert, verklaart en voorspelt op systematische wijze de attituden en het gedrag van mensen met als doel het identificeren en oplossen van marketing- of beleidsvraagstukken. Het onderzoeksproces bestaat uit vier fasen:
